Virginia "Gin" Carpenter

Virginia "Gin" Carpenter, 80, of Morganton, died on Monday, February 17, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on December 5, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Iris Lee Franklin Lingerfelt. Gin was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.She is survived by her son, Dennis Carpenter and his wife, Robin, of Morganton; a grandson, Jeremy Carpenter and his wife, Leslie, of Morganton; and great-grandchildren, Tanner and Abigail Carpenter.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carpenter was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Carpenter.The graveside service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev. Jessie Carr officiating. At other times the family will be at the home.Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 7620 Watershed Road, Morganton, NC 28655.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
