Committal
Virginia Hood Rader, 103, of Morganton, NC passed away January 15, 2024. She was born on April 23, 1920 in Fountain City, TN, to the late William E. Hood and Bertha Letterman Hood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Davis Rader; son, William Todd Rader; sisters, Helen Bledsoe and Mary Blevins; brothers, William, Robert, Carol, Tom and Carl Hood; and son-in-law, Joe B Whisenant.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Rader Whisenant; grandchildren, Katherine Daye Allison and Kenneth Daye, II (Tammy); great-grandchildren, Seth Allison (Mindy) Ashley Daye, Kendra Daye and Kendall Daye; great-great-grandchildren, Lillian Allison, Grayson Allison, Wyatt Allison and Sophie Allison. She has many nieces and nephews with special mention of John David Hood, Judy Jackson Hensley, Betsey Hood and Carla Hood Moorefield.
There will be a memorial service at 2pm on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home. A private burial will be at Burke Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oak Hill United Methodist Church.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Aunt Boot. Our thoughts & prayers are with you all during this difficult time. May you keep her memory in your heart, for she will always be with you. My sympathy to all the Rader and Hood families in the loss of Boot. She lived a long life and left the families many memories.
