Virginia Kincaid Drury

Virginia Kincaid Drury, 92, of Valdese, NC died Thursday, October 9, 2014.  Born February 14, 1922 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Marvin Byron Kincaid and Sarah Rusmisell Kincaid.  Virginia was a member of Valdese First Baptist Church

She is survived by a son, David Drury of Asheville, NC; a daughter, Brenda D. Connelly of Valdese; brothers, Max B. Kincaid and Gilbert A. Kincaid and wife Betty Jean, all of Morganton; and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Theodore Drury; sisters, Dorothy K Moran and Martha K. Powell; niece, Kay Kincaid Mitchell; and nephews, Michael Moran, and Fil Powell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Timothy Horldt and Rev. Barry Keys officiating.  Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Valdese First Baptist Church, 500 Faet St., NW, Valdese, NC  28690, or to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
