Virginia Propst

Virginia Propst, 93, of Morganton, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020. Born on February 26, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Effie Fisher. She was a kind, forgiving, caring lady who loved her family immensely.  She believed that true faith requires us to take care of each other and the beautiful earth God created; that we are all God’s creatures; and that faith is not just spoken loudly, but is often most evident in our silent acts of kindness and love.

Virginia is survived by her son, Donald Propst; daughter, Tamara Propst and Jennifer; grandson, Alex Propst; and brothers, Louis Fisher and Ben Fisher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin William Propst; sisters; Elizabeth Giles, JoEllen Lipe, and Irene Bowers; and brother, Clyde Fisher.

There will be a graveside service 3 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2020 at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev. Debbie Kidd officiating.  Masks are required for all in attendance.

Any memorial contributions should be made to Burke United Christian Ministries or the American Cancer Society.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
