Virginia Smith

Virginia Smith, 88, of Morganton passed away Friday, December 8, 2017.  Born in Greenville County, SC on November 14, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John Smith and Cumi Garrett Smith.

Mrs. Smith is survived by granddaughters, Mischa Arnold of Morganton and Elisa DeGroot of Raleigh, NC; great-granddaughter, Addy DeGroot; brothers, Darrell Smith and wife, Doris, of Hendersonville, NC and Ronnie Smith of Marion, NC; a sister, Lavone Clontz and husband, Monte, of Suwanee, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Don Smith; a daughter, Geraldine Smith Arnold; 1 brother; and 2 sisters.

The cryptside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 15, 2017 at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev. David Orders officiating.
