Wade Hensley

Wade Hensley, 73, of Morganton, NC passed away Monday, April 10, 2017. Born in Harlan County, KY on May 8, 1943, he was the son of the late John Milton Hensley and Ruby Mae Muncy Brock. Wade was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in Korea and Vietnam. He enjoyed spending time with his family, including 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Wade loved to spend his free time with is best friend, Smokey, and watch (and sometimes bet) on sports.
A loving husband and father, Mr. Hensley is survived by his wife of 52 years, Drunilla Brown Hensley of the home; sons, Rufus Wade Hensley and Shari, and Richard Gary Hensley and wife, Tonya; daughter Teresa Hensley Fisher and husband, Jimmy; brothers, Wayne Milton Hensley and wife, Willa Mae; Mac Brock and wife, Loretta, and Steve Brock and wife, Lisa; sister, Barbara Noe.
In addition to his parents, Wade was preceded in death by a sister, Bessie-Ann Howard; ; and step-father, Hirem Brock.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1pm, Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held at 1pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Eddy Bunton officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
