Walter Brown Bost, 84, of Morganton went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Born in Rowan County, NC on April 16, 1936, he was the son of the late Earl Bost and Margaret Pearl Leazer Bost. Walter was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family more than life itself. He worked at the Vulcan Rock Quarry for over 35 years. He enjoyed mowing grass, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Walter is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mildred Ann Lambirth Bost; daughter, Tina Bowman; grandchildren, Jamey Bivens (Melanie Jo), Nichole Kirschner, and Tiffany Marks (Aaron); seven grandchildren; sisters, Ann, Hazel, and Judy; and brothers, Billy and George.
In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by daughters, Debra Payne and Trina Lloyd; and son, Jerry Allen Payne.
No services are planned at this time.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
