Warren E. Harper

Warren E. Harper, 69, of Drexel, NC died Thursday, July 30, 2015. Born in Harrison County, WV on July 20, 1946, he was the son of the late Bernard Oscar Harper and Mollie Catherine Earnest Harper. Mr. Harper was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking and small engine repair. He was much loved by his family and friends.
Warren is survived by his wife, Joanna Barnett Harper of the home; children, Melissa McInturff and her husband, Donovan, of Baytown, TX, Eddie Harper and his wife, Christina, Clarksburg, WV, Kimberly Bean of St. Johnsbury, VT, Julie Charonko and her husband, Jim, of Wolcott, VT, and Laurie Heath of Hardwick, VT; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Waneta Hussman and Jennifer Davis, both of Wallace, WV; and several nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith Harper.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home’s Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Ed Stephenson officiating and military honors provided by the U.S. Navy and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658.
