Wayne A. Haynes, 75, of Morganton, NC, left for his next great adventure Saturday, December 17, 2022.

Born in Burke County, NC on February 9, 1947, he was the son of the late Stanley Haynes and Dorothy Huffman Haynes. Wayne was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and retired from Leviton Inc.. He was a member of Morganton Freedom Church of God. Wayne had been NC IPSC State Champion and was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Beth Haynes; daughter, Teresa Haynes (Jon Blythe); brothers, Carl, Daryl, and Gary Haynes; sister, Janet Smith; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m., to 12 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at noon in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Thomas Bartlett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
