Wayne McMahan

Wayne McMahan, 67, of Morganton, NC passed away Monday, October 6, 2014.  Born in McDowell County, NC on May 19, 1947, he was the son of the late Wilk McMahan and Annie Mae Styles McMahan.  Wayne retired from Henredon Furniture Company and worked several years for the city of Marion.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Shirley Russell McMahan of the home; daughters, Sherry McMahan of Morganton and Michelle Taylor and her husband, Paul, of Salemburg, NC; step-children, Debbie Tallent and her husband, Mike, Charles Norman and his wife, Connie, Pamela Self and her husband, Tracy, Tammy Coffey and her husband, Nathain, and Mike Norman and his wife, Becky, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Bradley McMahan, Devin Harris, and Angela Taylor; seventeen step-grandchildren; nineteen step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Charlie McMahan; and sisters, Bessie Wyatt, Evelyn Dalton, Ruth Epley, Sally Phillips, and Lettie Hoglen.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McMahan was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Floyd McMahan.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Rev. Donna O’Neal officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
