William “Bill” Ross

William “Bill” Ross, 87, of Morganton, NC, went to his Heavenly home, Monday, August 16, 2021. Born on July 28, 1934, he was the son of the late Ray and Cora Shuping Ross. Bill was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church. He was a brick mason in Burke County for many years. He was part owner of C & R Grocery for many years as well.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Cindy Goins (Benny); son, Ted Clark (Mary); grandsons, Josh Goins (Heather), Travis Clark (Danielle); three great-grandchildren, Emma, Carter and Lily. Bill was a wonderful daddy and paw-paw and loved his grandchildren dearly.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Pearl Smith Ross; brothers, Frank, Conley and Thurman Ross; sisters, Gladys Ross, Mildred Smith, Mary Jane Pike and Beatrice Conley.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the family will be having a private graveside at Burkemont Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
