William “Doug” Ollis, 88, of Morganton, NC passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024. He was born on September 6, 1935 in Burke County to the late Quinton Ollis and Lois Clontz Ollis. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding horses, fishing, working word puzzles, listening to blue-grass music and going to festivals. He loved his family and his family loved him. He was so good at taking care of his mother, mother-in-law, and his aunt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Ollis and sister, Louise Curtis.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy Cook Ollis; son, Wayne Ollis; brother, John Ollis; sisters, Jean Chapman and Doris Ollis; and beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm, Monday, September 2, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral will begin at 2pm in the church with Rev. Kevin Sizemore and Rev. Steve Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
