William Edward "Bill" Monn

William Edward "Bill" Monn, 77, of Rockyford St. in Morganton died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. He was born August 29, 1932 in York County, PA, and was a son of the late Clyde Monn, Sr. and Hazel Jacoby Monn. Bill was raised in the Methodist faith, and was a retired employee of Drexel-Heritage Furnishings with over 25 years of service.He is survived by sons, Steve Hobbs and wife, Ruby of Seneca, SC, Greg Monn and wife, Barbara, and Jeff Monn, all of Morganton; brothers, Donald Monn and Gerald Monn; sisters, Rosalie Steffey and Mary Ellen Rose; grandchildren, Jeremy Hobbs of Seneca, SC, Michael Monn, and Daniel Monn, both of Morganton; and his step-mother, Lillian Monn of Morganton.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Lucille Davis Hobbs Monn; a brother, Clyde "Sonny" Monn, Jr.; and a sister, Betty Miller.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 26, 2009 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.
