William Eugene "Bill" Keller

William Eugene "Bill" Keller, 67, of Morganton died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Charles George V.A. Medical Center, Asheville, NC. Born June 30, 1947 in Mecklenburg County, NC, he was a son of Emma Elizabeth Osborne Keller of Morganton and the late, George Washington Keller. Bill was a U. S. Army Vietnam veteran and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. For many years, he was a diesel mechanic with Kenworth Trucks in Hickory. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Hart and Mary Helen Ollis.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his siblings, Vera Lail of Conover, Marie Woods and husband, Donald, Lavern Keller and wife, Gloria, and Wanda Setzer all of Morganton; a step-grandson, Michael Layell; friends, Mike McPeters and John Bajue; and a number of nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Cline and Mrs. Betty Lawing officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour before the service. Memorial gifts may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3861 Pax Hill Rd., Morganton, NC 28655.
