William Hardy Dale

William Hardy Dale, 74, of Pineburr Ave., Valdese, NC died Sunday, January 02, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, NC. Born March 15, 1936 in Burke County, NC, he was a son of the late June and Lucy Kathleen Norman Dale. He was a member of the Miracle Church, Lenoir, NC. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Michaels and Lucy "Ann" Mace.He is survived by his wife, Sue Brown Dale; daughters and their husbands, Rhonda Dale Browning and Archie of Glen Alpine, NC and Peggy Dale Allen and Martin of Morganton; grandchildren, Kimberly Taylor, Ashley Duncan, Jennifer Smith, and Myron Wise; great grandchildren, Ethan and Aaron Duncan; brothers, Carl, Paul, Russell, and twins, James and Joe Dale all of Morganton; a sister, Ruth Duckworth of Morganton; and a number of nephews and nieces.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Reverend Tim Sutter officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
