William M. "Bill" Swain

William M. "Bill" Swain, 66, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Born in Durham County, NC on December 17, 1946, he was the son of the late William Francis Swain and Betsy Miles Swain. Bill was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. He worked for many years in sales with Vanity Fair Corporation. Bill also dabbled in acting, including the movies ‘Raw Deal," "Marie: The True Story," and "Year of the Dragon." He had many interests including jazz music and antique toys, trains, and cars, and he loved to share his knowledge of them. Bill was a wonderful husband and father; his daughter, Meredith was the joy of his life.Bill is survived by his wife, Janet Irene Myers Swain of the home; a daughter, Meredith Myers Swain of the home; a son, William M. Swain, Jr. of Georgia; a sister, Betsy Swain Dominick and her husband, John, of Durham; a brother-in-law, Joseph F. Myers and his wife, Betty, of Michigan; and two nieces, Johnna Giordano and her husband, Glenn, of Wake Forest, NC and Betsy Piehler and her husband, Michael, of Morehead City, NC.The memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Grace Episcopal Church with Father Gary Parker officiating.
