William R. "Bill" Hauser

William R. "Bill" Hauser, 94, formerly of N. Anderson St., Morganton died Saturday, February 23, 2008, following a period of declining health. He was born in Franklin, NC on May 13, 1913 and was a son of the late Luther Wilson Hauser and Betty Anne Roane Hauser. Mr. Hauser was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II during which he was held as a prisoner of war. He retired from Henredon Furniture Mfg. and was a member of First United Methodist Church.Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Musette Harbison Hauser; daughters, Kay Hauser Fox and her husband, Jerry, of Morganton and Cindy "Lu" Hauser of Conover; grandchildren, Christopher Gentry and his wife, Ashley, of Myrtle Beach, SC and Susan Prince and her husband, Jeff, of Lexington, NC; and great-grandchildren, Josh and Courtney Prince and Paxton Gentry. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Quince, James, Milton, and John Hauser.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Sydnor Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
