William Russell Nelson

William Russell Nelson, 65, of Ponderosa Rd., Morganton went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, September 7, 2008. A native of Newland, he loved his church, hunting, fishing, and drag racing. He was employed by Drexel Heritage, Century Furniture and Cut Wright Frames.The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Cline officiating, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friend from 2:00 till 3:00 pm, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the Nelson family.
