William Thomas "Tommy" Hensley

William Thomas "Tommy" Hensley, 69, of Valdese, NC died Monday, May 27, 2013. Born in Yancey County, NC on June 24, 1943, he was the son of the late Leslie Hensley and Lena Edwards Hensley. Tommy was a member of Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church. He was a retired employee of Drexel-Heritage Furnishings where he worked for 28 years. Tommy loved his church and his garden, and he was an avid craftsman.Tommy is survived by his friends, Selena and Jimmy Avery and Michele and Jason Day, all of Morganton; and his faithful canine companion, Jack.The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church with the Rev. Wallace Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
