Willie M. Propst

Willie M. Propst, Jr., 84, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, December 1, 2013. Born in Burke County, NC on September 16, 1929, he was the son of the late Willie McCoy Propst and Minnie Viola Walker Propst. Willie was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping projects around at the church. He was a former employee of Henredon Furniture and a retired employee of Drexel Heritage Furnishings. After his retirement he worked for Burke County at the convenience site on US 64 West.Willie is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Moss Propst of the home; a daughter, Lisa Propst and her husband, Cary Clark, of Morganton; a brother, Ray Propst and his wife, Elaine, of Morganton; and three nephews.In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by a son, Steven Propst; and a sister, Margie Lanier.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Salem United Methodist Church with the Reverends Mark Conforti and Donald Freshour officiating. Salem Fire & Rescue First Responders will serve as pallbearers and the Salem Men’s Bible Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
