Wilma Brackett, 81, of Morganton passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 after several years of declining health. Born on May 24, 1933 in Casar, NC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Cullen Brackett and Myrtle Walker Brackett. Wilma was a member of Zora Baptist Church in Casar and was a very giving person who loved to travel. She owned and operated Wilma Music Center and also worked for Dr. Mildred T. Keene and Broughton Hospital.
Wilma is survived by her sister, Margie Shelton and her husband, Jack, of Morganton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her brothers, James Vonnie Brackett and Glen Brackett; and sisters, Aileen McFarland and Irene Jeffries.
The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2014 at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church in Casar with the Rev. R. A. Brackett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.
