Wilma Lynn Hylemon

Wilma Lynn Hylemon, 68, a native of Yancey County, passed from this life on Friday, September 27, 2013 at her residence after years of declining health. Born on January 13, 1945, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Mae Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Miller.Wilma lived with her family in Washington and Oregon for over 40 years and returned to the mountains of Yancey County in 2006. Mrs. Hylemon was a homemaker and loved to travel, hunt, camp, and fish with her husband and children. She was dearly loved by all who knew her.

Wilma is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Everett Hylemon of the home; a daughter, Claudia Tosh and her husband, Brett, of Klamath Falls, OR; a son, Denver Hylemon and his wife, Trudy, of Dexter, OR; grandsons, Donald, Tosh, Jacob, and Mason Hylemon; brothers, Lloyd Miller of Monroe, OR and Chester Miller of Easley, SC; sisters, Shirley Hughes of San Angeles, TX, Phyllis Edmonds of Westwood, CA, and Betty Connon of Burnsville, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.Wilma was also very special to her husband’s family. We will all miss her dearly and we thank God he shared her with us.At her request, no services are planned for Mrs. Hylemon.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Yancey County, 856 Georges Fork Road, Burnsville, NC 28714.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
