Winnie Belle Daves Allen

Winnie Belle Daves Allen, 77 of Glen Alpine passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 after a period of declining health. Mrs. Allen was born September 18, 1936 in McDowell County to the late Willie R. Daves and Lucille Shuffler Daves. She was a homemaker and a special mom and mamaw to many.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Allen of 51 years; granddaughter, Ricki Moses; and a brother, Dickie Daves.

Winnie is survived by son, Bobby Allen, Jr. and wife, Carol, of Glen Alpine; daughters, Debbie Kendrick and husband, David, of New Caney, TX, Chrissy Evans and husband, Dean, of Connelly Springs, and Darlene Allen, of Marion; grandchildren, Randy Walker, Billy Walker, Thomas Hulsart, Chelsie Hulsart, Bobby Ray Allen, Deanna Brittain, Dean Evans, Jr., Travis Evans, Nicole Thorne and Ricky Moses; great grandchildren, Chloe Walker, Bella Walker, Dylan Brittain, Dalton Brittain, Kathlyin Brittain, Gage Moses, Luke Evans, Breanna Whisnant, Emily Smith, and Riley Fowler; brothers, Herbert Daves, Robert Daves and Jim Daves; sister, Shirlee Barrier and a special aunt, Evelyn Robinson.

A Remembrance of Life Celebration will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690. At other times the family will be at the home of Chrissy Evans, 7361 Oak Ridge Church Rd., Connelly Springs, NC 28612.
