Winona Ruby Parker, 86, of Morganton, NC went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 15, 2019. She was born in Burke County on September 23, 1932 to the late Garmon Avery Duckworth and Mary Elizabeth Stroupe Duckworth. She was a lifetime member of Mount Home Baptist Church. She was a business owner and worked in food service until her retirement. Winona was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, Winona was preceded in death by her husband, Hassel Lee Parker; daughter, Audrey Haynes; son-in-law, David Haynes, Sr.; and brother, Clarence Duckworth.
She is survived by daughters, Mitzi Miller and husband, Dennis, of Monroe Township, NJ; Frances Sciarratta and husband, Walter, of Monroe Township, NJ; son, David Parker and girlfriend, Kim, of Morganton; sister, Judy Tallent and husband, Cecil, of Morganton; grandsons, David Haynes, Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Denver, NC, John Miller and wife, Teri, of Monroe Township, NJ, and Andy Haynes and wife, Margaret, of Virginia; great-grandchildren, Blaine, Landon, Jake, Heather, and Jayton.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Mount Home Baptist Church. The service will begin at 4 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
