Woodrow Buff

Woodrow Buff, 77, of Morganton died Saturday, May 5, 2018. He was born February 27, 1941 in Burke County to the late John Asor Buff and Swannie Causby Buff.  Woodrow was a member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church. He worked for Drexel Heritage for 45 years, was an avid fox and coon hunter since childhood and continued to this day reminiscing with his close hunting friends and co-workers.  Woodrow was a leader that lived a private life but had a heart of gold.

In addition to his parents, Woodrow is preceded in death by his late wife of 56 years, Marie T. Buff; and a son, Gary Woodrow Buff; brother, John Obie Buff; sister Durline Waters and multiple nieces and nephews both living and passed.

Woodrow is survived by a son, Jonathan Wayne “Bunk” Buff and April of Morganton; daughter, Gina Marie Perez and husband, Robert of Morganton, William Colt Herron-Buff and wife, Amanda; grandchildren Whitney Setzer and husband, Hoss, Jody Buff, Zane Buff, Jordan Buff, Taylor Perez and partner Brittanee, Cage Perez and Travis Buff; great grandchildren, Makenzie Herron, Easton Herron, Hoss Lane Setzer; and Mason Riffe; sister Shirley McDaniels and Jim.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Missionary Ridge Baptist Church with Reverends Donald Lovelace and Chris Dale officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
