Zane Allen Gray

Zane Allen Gray, 74, of Morganton went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 following a brief illness. He was born in Burke County on May 29, 1938 and was a son of the late James and Virginia Ross Gray. Mr. Gray was a retired supervisor at Valdese Manufacturing and was a current employee at Wal-Mart. He was a member of House of Praise Fellowship.Zane is survived by his wife of 26 years, Judy Gray; his sons, Rev. Jeff Davis and his wife, Stephanie, of Hamptonville, NC and Zane Allen Gray, II of Florida; his daughter, Daphne Maxwell and her husband, Danny, of Hendersonville; his brother, Howard Gray and his wife, Patsy of Norfolk, VA; six grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Gray.The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park with military honors by N. C. National Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.
