Zaylan Iverson Benfield went to be with Jesus and his great-grandparents on Thursday, December 19, 2019. He was born on December 14, 2019 in Burke County to Mikkaylla Benfield. He was known as Zay-Butt and loved music. He is now in Heaven playing with his great-grandparents, the late Iverson Troy Brown and Judy Ann Brown.
In addition to his mother, Mikkaylla, he is survived by his grandmother, Vanda Benfield (Eddie); Godparents, Ellen and Mark Williams; and aunt, Miranda Benfield.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The memorial service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Brenda Wells officiating.
