When I think of my fondest childhood memories, it includes my Aunt Ann. She was known to me as the strict one (as far as aunts go) and the one who was serious in all matters. As a little snotty nosed kid, who was a bit of a clown, she was the perfect person to annoy, just to see if she would laugh. Her son Jonathan and I are close to the same age, so we spent lots of time together. We were double trouble for Aunt Ann, and yet she would still pick me up so Jonathan and I could play. Sometimes we were on our worst behavior which drove Aunt Ann bonkers. We laughed a lot at her reactions to our shenanigans and occasionally she would laugh too. As I grew up, I realized she gave good advise on many topics of life, especially educational opportunities at different colleges/ universities across NC. I admired her grit, perseverance and resiliency in this world, which wasn’t always easy. Aunt Ann was one-of-a-kind. Thank you Jonathan and Greg for sharing your Mom with me. Sending much love to all of your family. Love always, Beckey Carswell

I have known Ann for many years. Our paths crossed in many ways over the years. She always had a smile and we both enjoyed catching up on children and grandchildren! Ann was truly a sweet lady and will be missed. Thoughts and prayers for the family.
