Glenda Lee Lyle, 91, of the Salem community, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at home with her family by her side. She was born on December 20, 1932 in Ashe County to the late Ben Walters and Helen Hart Darnell. She was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church and before her failing health, she was a member of several church committees. Glenda helped out with the Salem Ruritan booth at the fair and would cook for the monthly Ruritan Club. She was very active in the Salem community and always helped any way she could.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill E. Lyle; sisters, Carol Miller and Juanita Ray.

Glenda is survived by her sons, Michael Lyle, Danny Lyle (Lisa); daughter, Jeanne Lyle; grandchildren, Scott Lyle ( Kim) and Kristy Lyle; great-grandchildren, Jessie Smith and Brynlee Lyle; sisters, Wanda Severt and Doris Brooks.

The graveside service will begin at 10:30am, Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Burkemont Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Eddy Bunton and Rev. Dr. Luke Lane officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
