Jerry Winston Causby, 70, went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2024. Born July 6, 1954, Jerry was the son of the late Array “Booge” and Louise Causby of Morganton, NC.

Jerry is survived by his brother, Larry; sister, Mary “Sweet Pea”; sister-in-law, Carol; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends that were like family.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Blaine; sister-in-law, Nancy; brother-in-law, Wayne Collier.

More than love towards his family, Jerry loved spending time in his greenhouse, Causby Greenhouse, where he grew smiles to share with the community and felt the closest to family that had passed before him. When not in the greenhouse, Jerry focused on the needs of his second business, Causby’s Bodyshop. Both businesses were a staple in the community for years and through his flowers and fixes, he touched many who lived in Glen Alpine and beyond. Prior to focusing on his businesses, Jerry had supported the community of Glen Alpine for many years. While in more ways than we can list, we know he loved serving the community as a volunteer firefighter, a first responder, and a code enforcer. He also extended his love of missions and serving those around him as he volunteered in many capacities at his church, First Baptist Church of Glen Alpine. Jerry had served as a deacon, helped prepare meals, worked with the youth, and sat in the back on his favorite pew each Sunday morning. Jerry was a man of God with a large heart- his love for those around him was evident.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, November 10, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Glen Alpine. A celebration of Jerry’s life will follow at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

While flowers are always welcomed to honor Jerry’s memory, memorial donations to the North Carolina Baptist Disaster Relief Fund (baptistonmission.org) for those impacted by Hurricane Helene would continue his legacy to help those around.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
