Katlyn Benfield Walker, 27, of Morganton, NC passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025. She was born on March 8, 1997 to William Anthony Benfield and the late Jada Lawing Benfield.
Katlyn was a member of Laurel Haven Baptist Church. She attended Central Piedmont Community College where she obtained her Associate’s Degree in American Sign Language. She loved her fur babies. Katlyn was a loving person who was very forgiving and full of life. She had a bright future ahead of her.
In addition to her father, William Benfield, she is survived by her husband, Christian Walker; siblings, Katlyn Douglas, Logan Hubbard and Lily Prebor; maternal grandmother, Jane Lawing; a special Uncle Weyland Prebor and Sissy Sascha Prebor.
In addition to her mother, Jada Benfield, Katlyn was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ed “Bless your Heart” Lawing.
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Morganton Wesleyan Church. A Celebration of Katlyn’s Life will follow in the church at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Carolina School for the Deaf Foundation, Inc, PO Box 1397, Morganton, NC 28680.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
