Larry Kent Jarrett, 61, of Glen Alpine, NC, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

Born in Burke County, NC on May 20, 1963, he was the son of Emma Jeanette Propst Jarrett and the late Harry Samuel Jarrett.

Larry was a member of Summitt Community Church. He loved his family, especially being a Poppy to his grandchildren. He also loved his church and his church family. Larry was a hard worker, always providing for his family. He enjoyed going to church, traveling, playing golf, but especially spending time with his family.

Larry is survived by his mother and his children, Jessica Jarrett Feimster (Ashley), Kayley Venable (Brian), and Lucas Jarrett; step-daughter, Kristen Williams (Noah); grandchildren, Talen Walker, Jacey Patton, Preston Feimster, and Kashton Feimster; brother, Harry Jarrett, Jr. (Stephanie); sister, Gay Hoover, Lisa McCall (Steve), and Crystal Suttles (Rick); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Roxanne Jarrett; nephew, Joshua Ledford; and brother-in-law, Doug Hoover.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Revs. Mike Chandler and Dwight Winters officiating. Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org/donate).

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I'm so very sorry to hear about my friend passing. He was a special guy and a great buddy. I worked with Larry for few years we lift weights together and he was always talking about the Lord. I will miss him a lot.

I knew Larry and went to church with him a long time ago. I know a lot of his family members and know that he will be missed greatly. I want to send my deepest condolences to the family and will be thinking and praying for all of you. May God be with you in this time of grief.
