Louise Bryant Capps, 85, of Morganton, NC passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024. She was born on October 8, 1938 in Buncombe County to the late Handy Bryant and Laura Trantham Bryant. Louise was a member of McDowell Independent Presbyterian Church where she was a faithful church goer her whole life. She enjoyed working puzzles, baking and eating chocolate. Louise loved her family very much. Her favorite holiday was Christmas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Capps; one brother; eight sisters; and granddaughter, Felicia Duckett.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Linda McDade (Chuck) and Rosalie Allen (Joe); son, James Duckett (Donna); grandchildren, Vicki Hollifield, Jessica Lane and Jason Duckett; four great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at McDowell Independent Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will begin at 2pm in the church with Rev. Dennis Carswell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Linda, Rosalie, and James, we are sorry to hear about your loss of Lousie. She was a wonderful friend. We rode many miles together to Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Elmer took her for her first ride in our airplane which She enjoyed so much. She will be missed so much and our memories will be in our hearts forever. May God be with you through this trial.
