Tamra Haney, 64, of Morganton, NC passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023 at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on November 25, 1958 in Burke County to Herb and Norma Gibbs. She married Sherrill Haney on August 4, 1979 in Gaffney, SC. She worked at J Iverson Riddle Developmental Center as a Recreational Therapist for many years and was very passionate about her work. She happily retired in 2007. Tamra lived life to the fullest being a wonderful mother, daughter and friend. She filled every room with love and laughter.
She is preceded in death by a son, Dillon Nash Haney; brother, Robert Gibbs.
In addition to her parents Herb and Norma Gibbs, Tamra is survived by her husband, Sherrill Haney of the home; children, Jennifer Price (Dustin), Kimberly Wagner (Billy), and William Edmisten III (Mallory); grandchildren, Chloe-Ann, Will, Leyton; several bonus children and grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Crawford officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Tammy I love you rest in peace your cousin steve
I was privileged to work with Tammy at JIRDC and attend high school with her. Tammy was a joy to be around and made everyone laugh. She loved the residents at JIRDC and was passionate about making sure she served them well. Love and prayers to your family.
Tammy was a wonderful friend and classmate. Praying her family finds comfort in their wonderful memories of Tammy throughall the cherished time spent with her.
Sherill and Jennifer, i am sorry for your loss. I had the great pleasure of knowing Tammy. She had a way of bringing laughter to all around her. She will be missed.
