Vicki Winkler, 62, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Born in Burke County, NC on March 27, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Richard Gene Barrier and Mary Mull Swink. Vicki was a member of Hartland Baptist Church and an active member of the Hartland Community. She was a loving wife, mother, and mawmaw who dearly loved her family. She had a heart for everyone. Vicki was very athletic, a great cook, and always had her nails done. She loved the beach.

Vicki is survived by her husband of 43 years, Daniel Winkler; sons, Nathan Winkler and Dustin Winkler (Whitney); grandchildren, Raegan, Maycie, Jaxson, Ryan, Iveigh, Finnley, and Levi Winkler; and siblings, Debbie Grant and Wayne Swink.

In addition to her family, Vicki was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Karmen Stewart.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Hartland Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I’m so sorry to hear about Vicki’s passing. It was a joy to go to church with her and we also went out and did things together as friends. I’m just now finding out about her and it’s very sad. I’m praying for each of you as you go through this difficult time. May God give you peace and love.

I’m so sorry to hear this news. I grew up on Pax Hill Road and went to school with Vicki until we graduated. She was a very good friend and I have many good memories of her. Even in high school I remember she always had her nails done. I know she will be missed. Prayers for you all.
