Danny Newton Crump, Jr., 49, of Morganton, NC passed away, Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Born on November 7, 1974, he was the son of Danny and Delores Crump. Danny was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. He grew up in the Winston Cup Racing Shops, working on the Tide team and racing. Danny drove for a gentleman in New York who won many races. Dannys son, Dustin, assisted as his crew chief and his father, Danny, Sr., built the engines. Danny would help anyone he could. His faith and forgiveness were who he was saying, “To always forgive one another and to Live for the Lord.”
In addition to his parents, Danny is survived by his son, Dustin Crump (Unique); sister, Dana Jackson (Henry); brother, Leon Crump; cousin, Johnny Duckworth (Amy), who helped take care of Danny; a number of extended family; and a special lady, Stephinie Lewis.
The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3:30 pm, Friday, August 2, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A graveside will follow at Burke Memorial Park with Pastor Bud Jernigan officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I am blown away to hear of his passing. what a great guy. no doubt where his soul is. he was very kind to me and helped out when I opened an antique store but we lost contact after I closed. the world was a nicer place with him in it . he was always talking about his son, how proud he was. I know he loved his dad and mom very much.
Today is 8/26/2024 its getting harder wi thout you . I love you with all my heat and I miss you so bad it breaking my heart. It won't get any easier for 35 years and counting its been hard but I always prayed you would be here for me . I really need you Danny. Mama nee ds you all the time . I miss you terribly . One day we'll be together again be a family reunion never to part again. I love you so much son . Mamma
Today I learned of the passing of Danny...I met Danny and his parents and Danny's son through his brother Leon...I always thought the world of Danny and his family..My prayers are with you during this very difficult time...sending much love to his family...

You are my precious gift from God ,my baby . I love you even when time is no more. As your mother I love you , I miss you I won't ever let go of you but you were Gods and he let me keep you for a little while . You live in my heart and there you will remain . I always thought you would be here for me but God had other plans. When you took your last breath I just started dying myself.
