Vivian Michelle Hughes-D’Alessandro, 16, of Morganton, NC, went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, September 12, 2024.

Born in Lake City, FL on March 10, 2008, she was the daughter of Christina and Nick D’Alessandro. Vivian was a junior at Freedom High School, where she sang in the choir. She loved blue butterflies, and her favorite color was brown. Vivian was a light in everyone’s life, and she made everyone feel special and loved.

In addition to her parents, Vivian is survived by her brother, Benjamin Michael D’Alessandro; sister, Nicole Marie D’Alessandro; maternal grandmother, Joanne Baker; paternal grandparents, Lori D’Alessandro and Edward D’Alessandro; aunt, Barbara Rose Lopez (Reginald); and cousins, Allyson, Adam, and Audrey Lopez.

A celebration of Vivian’s life will be held at noon, Saturday, September 21, 2024 at El Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Cunningham officiating. All who loved Vivian are asked to gather in the fellowship hall following the service.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I can’t imagine a deeper pain than what you’re feeling right now. Steve & I are so very sorry for the loss of your precious Vivian Michelle! She was like a beautiful butterfly bringing so much joy to others with her colorful spirit, sweet smile & kind heart! Though young, Michelle lived each day with happiness, grace, and bravery. She certainly made a mark on our lives! We will forever remember her!! May the light of love continue to surround you during this most difficult time, giving you some peace, comfort & understanding!
